Former Marist Brothers Student Shines on The Voice Australia

Roland Williams, a former student of Marist Brothers High School, has advanced in The Voice Australia after emerging victorious against Jaydin Shingleton in the Battles stage of the competitive singing show. The duo performed Teddy Swims’ popular track ‘Lose Control,’ which was selected for them by their coach, Guy Sebastian.

In a video message, Teddy Swims expressed his excitement and honor to witness how the two contestants would interpret his song. After their performances, Guy Sebastian noted that Williams seemed to be more in his element, indicating his standout performance during the battle.

Williams made his debut in the Fijian music scene in 2007 with the band One2Eight, based in Suva. He later moved to New Zealand, where he achieved fame by winning the popular Māori Television singing competition, Homai Te Pakipaki, in 2009 with his rendition of Billy Paul’s 1972 classic, ‘Me And Mrs Jones.’
