Former Fiji Minister Faces Corruption Charges: What’s Next?

Former Fisheries Minister Kalaveti Ravu has entered a plea of not guilty to charges related to corruption. Ravu appeared in the Magistrates Court in Suva this morning, facing one count of Abuse of Office. He is joined by Tekata Toisi, the Regional Manager for the North, who is charged with one count of aiding and abetting Abuse of Office. The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption has provided the defense counsel with the second phase of disclosures. The case has been postponed until August 28 for further mention.
