FMF Foods Limited has penned a five-year contract to sponsor the Inter-District Championship (IDC), teaming up with the Fiji Football Association. The financial details of the sponsorship remain undisclosed as per the agreement, but the Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel characterized the deal as financially rewarding. During a press conference at the FMF head office in Suva, Jimi Taniela, FMF group manager operations, underscored the decision to sponsor the tournament as an involvement in community engagement and people’s development. Taniela noted the sponsorship would bring visibility to the FMF brands, given IDC’s high-profile and prestige. The IDC, which attracts 22 district teams, is the biggest football tournament in Fiji. This year the 86-year-old tournament will take place from October 15 to 20 at Churchill Park, Lautoka.
