FMF Foods Limited Secures Five-Year Sponsorship Deal for Fiji Football Association’s Inter-District Championship

FMF Foods Limited has entered into a five-year partnership with the Fiji Football Association to sponsor the Inter-District Championship (IDC).

While the exact financial details remain undisclosed, Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel characterized the deal as substantial.

During a press conference at the FMF headquarters in Suva, FMF Group Manager Operations Jimi Taniela explained their motivation for sponsoring the tournament.

“It is our community engagement and development of all people,” he stated. “To unite people around Fiji and promote healthy lifestyles, and to assist in the development of local talents.”

Taniela emphasized that sponsoring the IDC would enhance the visibility of FMF brands. “The IDC is a high-profile event and a prestigious tournament,” he said.

The IDC, first played in 1938, featured teams from Suva, Ba, Rewa, Levuka, and Lautoka.

Patel highlighted the significance of FMF’s involvement in the 86-year-old tournament. “Firstly, my thanks to Courts for sponsoring the IDC in the past years. New decisions have to be made, and FMF has come in,” he said.

“The IDC is the biggest football tournament in the country with 22 district teams participating,” Patel added.

This year’s IDC is set to take place from October 15-20 at Churchill Park, Lautoka.
