FMF Announced as Gold Sponsor for Fiji’s Hibiscus Festival

FMF, one of the oldest locally-owned major businesses in the country, has pledged a three-year sponsorship for the Hibiscus Festival, often referred to as the mother of all festivals in the Pacific.

During a signing ceremony held yesterday at FMF’s headquarters in Walu Bay, Suva, FMF Business Analyst Manager Claudia Dass Smith expressed the company’s commitment to fostering the cultural rejuvenation and history of Fiji, which the festival embodies.

“It gives me great pleasure to announce that FMF Foods Limited will be the proud gold sponsor of the Fiji Hibiscus Festival for the next three years,” Smith stated.

“The return of the Hibiscus Festival holds a special place in the hearts of all Fijians and aligns perfectly with FMF Foods Limited’s values of supporting our communities.”

Smith added that partnering with the Suva City Council (SCC) would strengthen their connection with consumers, who are crucial to their business success.

Opetaia Ravai, Chairperson of the Hibiscus Standing Committee, expressed gratitude toward FMF, saying, “Without sponsors like FMF, organizing a major festival like Hibiscus would be an immense challenge due to the costs involved.”

“You will see in the next couple of days what we will be able to deliver,” Ravai added.

The festival, which has been revived after a five-year break, is set to occur during the Term 2 school break, from August 31 to September, at Ratu Sukuna Park, Suva Foreshore, and the Civic Centre.

This year’s slogan for the event is “Where Beauty Blooms, Suva Shines.”
