A Flying Fijian utility back showcased outstanding performance in the French Top 14 competition over the weekend. Bayonne center, Sireli Maqala, formed a formidable partnership with former England international Manu Tuilagi, leading their team to a convincing 32-15 victory against Racing 92. Maqala scored a try in the 45th minute, with tighthead prop Luke Tagi coming off the bench for Bayonne. Racing 92 featured strong-running winger Josua Tuisova in their lineup.
In another match, elusive winger Jiu ta Wainiqolo also made headlines by scoring a try in Toulon’s 30-17 win over Montpellier, where he was partnered on the wing by utility back Seta Tuicuvu.
