Flying Fijians Set to Clash with Japan in Thrilling Cup Final

Tevita Ikanivere, captain of the FIJI Water Flying Fijians, is both focused and confident as the team prepares for their highly anticipated Pacific Nations Cup final against Japan this evening. Ikanivere expressed that the players are feeling self-assured heading into the match.

“The boys are feeling confident going into tonight’s game,” he stated. “We have the confidence knowing that we’ve put in the work throughout the week. We focused on clarity during our two training sessions on Tuesday and Thursday in Osaka, and we look forward to coming out and battling with Japan.”

Acknowledging the pressure of the upcoming game, Ikanivere sees it as a beneficial aspect. “There’s always pressure. It’s a good thing. So, I look forward to tonight and leading the boys out to try and secure a win. We know what to do. We’ve absorbed the message throughout and we’re just going to come out and execute and finish the job,” he added.

The captain also took a moment to thank the team’s sponsors and supporters. “First of all, we want to thank our sponsors FIJI Water and Fiji Airways for allowing us to do what we love. To all our fans in Japan, we encourage you to come out in numbers and watch the boys play.”

The final is set to kick off at 10:05 PM.
