Flying Fijians Gear Up for Thrilling Clash Against Samoa!

Defence and discipline are major priorities for the Flying Fijians as they prepare to face Samoa in their Pacific Nations Cup opener at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. Team captain Tevita Ikanivere emphasized the importance of staying focused throughout the match.

The 24-year-old hooker stated, “There is a saying that goes only good enough if we do the work.” He encouraged rugby fans to support the restructured Flying Fijians team in large numbers.

“I’m up for the challenge and I thank God for picking me (as captain) to do his work on earth,” Ikanivere added. He anticipates a tough competition against the Samoans.

While acknowledging the youth of his team, he noted that strong leadership within the squad helps ease his responsibilities both on and off the field. Following two intense training sessions, Ikanivere expressed that they are set on winning their first match of the PNC.

The match is set to kick off at 6pm.
