“Flying Fijians Gear Up for PNC Showdown Against Samoa”

Defense and discipline are crucial focus areas for the Flying Fijians as they prepare for their Pacific Nations Cup opener against Samoa at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. This was emphasized by the Flying Fijians’ captain, Tevita Ikanivere, during a statement made yesterday.

The 24-year-old hooker stressed the importance of staying alert throughout the match. “There is a saying that goes only good enough if we do the work,” he remarked.

Ikanivere also urged rugby fans to come out in large numbers to support the newly revamped Flying Fijians team. He expressed gratitude for being chosen as captain, saying, “I’m up for the challenge and I thank God for picking me to do his work on earth.”

He anticipates a tough match against Samoa, recognizing the challenge ahead. “We are a young team, but there are lots of leaders in this team, which makes my work easier on and off the field because everyone takes care of themselves,” Ikanivere noted.

Following two rigorous training sessions, the team is setting its sights on securing a victory in their first match of the Pacific Nations Cup. The game is scheduled to kick off at 6 PM.
