The November Test matches are a crucial stage for the Fiji Water Flying Fijians as they gear up for the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia. This was the essence of head coach Mick Byrne’s remarks prior to the team’s departure from Fiji.

Byrne highlighted that the current squad features several veteran players nearing the end of their careers. “Some of them have participated in three World Cups, and their legacy should be honored,” he stated. He emphasized that now is the right moment to integrate talented players, aligning with their preparation for the upcoming World Cup.

“We concluded the Pacific Nations Cup on a strong note, and it’s essential to finish this year positively as well,” Byrne added.

The coach noted that this international program includes four Test matches, three of which will be against Six Nations teams: Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. He mentioned that Europe-based players have performed well recently, while local players from the Fijian Drua squad have been actively engaged in their offseason training.

The Flying Fijians will kick off their tour with a match against Scotland at Murrayfield on November 3. They will then head to Cardiff to face Wales on November 10, followed by a match against Spain on November 17, and wrapping up with a final Test against Ireland in Dublin on November 24.

In related news, Scotland Rugby has announced that tickets for the Scotland-Fiji Test match have sold out.
