Heavy rainfall overnight has led to significant flooding in various parts of the country, particularly in the Eastern Division, where homes are submerged. In Wailoku, many residents are working to clear debris as they deal with the aftermath of the flooding. The Fiji Meteorological Services report that intense rainfall continues to affect low-lying areas, resulting in flash floods. The Nadi Weather Office attributes the current weather to a trough of low pressure over Fiji, which is gradually moving eastward. Showers associated with this weather system are expected to persist in the affected areas throughout the day, while other divisions may see partly cloudy conditions with occasional showers. Further updates will be provided.
