Parts of the country have been hit by floods, submerging homes after heavy rainfall occurred overnight in the Eastern Division. In Wailoku, numerous homes remain under water, while residents are working to clear away debris.
The Fiji Meteorological Services reported that the Eastern Division continues to face intense rainfall, leading to flash flooding in various low-lying regions. The Nadi Weather Office attributed the current weather conditions to a trough of low pressure moving slowly eastward over Fiji.
Showers linked to this weather system are expected to continue in the affected areas until later today. Meanwhile, other divisions may see partly cloudy skies with some occasional showers.
Stay tuned for more updates.
