Flooding Crisis: Eastern Fiji Faces Severe Rain and Rising Waters

Heavy rainfall overnight in the Eastern Division has led to flooding in several areas, leaving homes submerged under water. In Wailoku, many residences remain inundated, while some residents are working to clear debris from their properties.

The Fiji Meteorological Services reports that the Eastern Division is currently facing intense rainfall, causing flash flooding in various low-lying regions. The Nadi Weather Office indicates that these weather conditions are a result of a trough of low pressure over Fiji, which is gradually moving eastward. Showers linked to this system are expected to continue in the affected areas throughout the day.

Meanwhile, other divisions might experience partly cloudy skies with sporadic showers. Stay tuned for further updates.
