Several rural roads in Fiji’s Central and Northern Divisions are currently closed due to flooding, prompting travelers to exercise caution and comply with all road closures.
In the Central Division, key routes that are affected include Savu Road in Naitasiri, which is flooded. Additionally, roads in Viria Village, Vatulili, and Navulokani are facing flooded crossings. Nabukaluka Delailasakau Road is impacted by a landslide, along with washout and flooded crossings.
In the Northern Division, Coqeloa Road at Qelemumu is experiencing a flooded crossing, while Vunivutu Road is also compromised. Other affected routes include Boubale Road at Qawa Crossing, Sevaci Korotasere Road at Nayagalevu Crossing, Dreketilailai Road at Konasami Crossing, and Vuniyalayala Road at Vuniyalayala Crossing.
The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) is closely monitoring the situation and will provide further updates as required.
In times like these, the importance of road safety cannot be overstated. While the current conditions are challenging, it is hoped that the situation will improve as the FRA implements necessary measures to restore access. This highlights the resilience of the community as they navigate these obstacles together.
