The National Fire Authority (NFA) is taking a proactive stance to improve fire safety compliance in schools. CEO Puamau Sowane emphasized the economic repercussions of fire incidents, especially within government-funded schools, which have been significantly impacted. He underscored the importance of schools investing in insurance to help offset potential losses.

Sowane pointed out a worrying trend regarding recent fires at rural schools that are situated outside municipal fire service areas.
