Fire at Hilton Fiji Beach Resort: What Happened Behind the Scenes?

A fire broke out at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa on Saturday, specifically in the storage area located at the back of the house. The National Fire Authority is currently investigating the incident.

Carey Osborne, the resort’s cluster general manager, confirmed that the fire was swiftly contained and extinguished, with no injuries reported. She stated, “No guest rooms were affected,” and noted that a small number of guests were evacuated from nearby rooms as a precautionary measure.

Osborne emphasized the resort’s commitment to safety, saying, “Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa remains dedicated to upholding practices and standards that comply with stringent safety and security regulations, prioritizing the wellbeing of our guests and team members.”

Senior Superintendent of Police Iakobo Vaisewa, the Divisional Police Commander for the West, also reported that there were no casualties and mentioned that they are awaiting the results of the investigation.
