Fine weather is expected across most of Fiji through to midnight tomorrow, with only brief showers affecting parts of the main islands and several outer groups. Nights will be cool, and easterly winds will be moderate to fresh while seas remain moderate to rough. Rotuma will be more unsettled under a weak trough, with cloud, showers and isolated thunderstorms.

Brief showers may occur over Serua‑Namosi, Navua‑Suva‑Nausori, Tailevu‑Naitasiri‑Ra, eastern Macuata, Cakaudrove, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, the Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands. Most other districts can expect fine weather. The outlook for Saturday shows more cloud and brief showers returning to many of the same eastern and northern coastal districts — including northern Bua — while other areas should stay mainly fine with only isolated afternoon or evening showers.

Winds will be moderate to fresh from the east today, shifting to moderate to fresh northeast on Saturday. Seas are forecast to remain moderate to rough across the island group for both days, so marine conditions will be choppy and small craft should take appropriate precautions.

Daytime temperatures are generally in the high 20s to low 30s C. Navua/Suva/Nausori and Natadradave/Korovou are forecast around a daytime high of 29°C and overnight lows near 20°C. Taveuni, Savusavu, Lau/Lomaiviti and Kadavu have similar figures with highs near 29°C. Yasawa/Mamanuca, Sigatoka/Coral Coast and Nabouwalu should reach about 30°C, while Nadi/Lautoka/Ba, Tavua/Rakiraki and Labasa see highs near 32°C. Rotuma is cloudier and more unsettled today with a top near 31°C; its forecast for tomorrow and Saturday shows variable temperatures and a continuation of showers and isolated thunderstorms.

Overall, expect mostly fine conditions with localized brief showers over the areas listed, cool nights and breezy easterly to northeasterly winds. Mariners, coastal residents and anyone planning outdoor activities should allow for choppy seas and the chance of short, passing showers — particularly around the eastern islands and Rotuma where isolated thunderstorms are possible.
