Mereia Turaganivalu of Team Fiji has won a bronze medal in the Women’s 59kg Youth category at the 2024 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships held at Vodafone Arena in Suva. The 14-year-old student from Gospel High School lifted 53kg in the snatch and 70kg in the clean and jerk, achieving a total of 123kg. Turaganivalu expressed that her mother and aunt, both former lifters, inspire her, and she feels proud to continue the family legacy.
