Aanvi Prasad’s hard work and dedication have paid off as she emerges as one of the top achievers in the 2024 Fiji Eighth Year Examination. The Year 8 student from Lautoka Central Primary School earned an impressive 491 marks out of 500. Reflecting on her success, Aanvi attributed her achievement to the sacrifices she made and the commitment she demonstrated throughout the school year.
“It was my dream to be the highest scorer, and I sacrificed for it,” Aanvi stated. She developed a study timetable and remained devoted to her academic responsibilities, consistently communicating her aspirations to her parents. “With the sacrifices that I made throughout the year, I told my parents that I wanted to be a high scorer and to get first place in all my exams. I am happy that I achieved it,” she expressed.
Acknowledging the competition, the 13-year-old head girl admitted that some peers doubted her abilities, occasionally leading her to lose hope. However, the encouragement from her parents and teachers helped her realize that anything is achievable.
Her father, Ronil Prasad, expressed pride in his daughter’s accomplishments, highlighting the importance of investing in her education. “I am a proud dad. It was a great investment that we as parents made in our daughter’s education. We have seen the fruit of it. It is a different feeling as a parent to experience such an achievement from our children,” he shared.
Looking ahead, Aanvi plans to continue her education at Natabua High School next year. Notably, Viola Ravutubananitu from Tagitagi Sangam School in Ba also achieved an exceptional score of 491 marks.
This story serves as an inspiring reminder of how dedication, support from family and teachers, and perseverance can lead to remarkable achievements. Aanvi and her fellow students’ success is a testament to the bright future that awaits them.
One can only hope that this triumph propels them toward further accomplishments in their academic journey and beyond.
