Fiji’s Young Kulas Set to Make History in First Ever World Cup Match

The Fiji Young Kulas are set to make their debut in the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup against Brazil tomorrow, with clear goals in mind. Assistant Coach Annette Nainima expressed the team’s desire to perform admirably and to score their first-ever World Cup goal.

Nainima emphasized the significance of this historic moment for the team, stating, “It’s our first ever World Cup, and to go back and share stories with our families and loved ones is monumental. No one ever thought that Fiji’s women’s team would reach the World Cup, but here we are.”

She highlighted the support from their families back home, who are eagerly awaiting the matches on TV. “We’re just going to give our best,” she added.

Fiji will face Brazil in their opening match at 11 am on Sunday, September 1, followed by games against Canada at 1 pm on Wednesday, September 4, and France at 10 am on Saturday, September 7, all in Fiji time.
