Fiji’s Young Kulas Gear Up for Brazil: Talei Moodie’s Heartfelt Mission

Talei Moodie, the newest member of the Fiji Young Kulas under-20 team, is filled with pride as she prepares to represent her country and family in their opening match against Brazil in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. The 20-year-old forward from California State University, Fullerton, joined the team in Medellin, Colombia, earlier this week and has quickly adapted to her new teammates.

Moodie is one of three international players on the squad, alongside 15-year-old goalkeeper Aliana Vakaloloma and Preeya Singh. Head coach Angeline Chua has noted Moodie’s impressive intensity and focus during training sessions.

The coaching staff has commended Moodie for her ability to understand the game and her readiness to take on any role required for the team’s success. “Talei has shown great promise in training. Her ability to read the game and her willingness to step into any role needed are exactly what we need as we prepare for tough competition like Brazil,” said Chua.

Moodie expressed her excitement about being part of such a dedicated and welcoming group. She looks forward to making her contribution to the team, particularly in the highly anticipated match against Brazil. “I’m happy to be here and to have the opportunity to train with such a hardworking and welcoming group,” she stated. “I’m looking forward to contributing to the team in any way I can, especially as we head into this important match against Brazil.”

The Young Kulas’ first match against Brazil is set to start at 11 am today.
