The Fiji Young Kulas are set to compete against Brazil in the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup tomorrow, with clear objectives in mind.

Assistant Coach Annette Nainima expressed the team’s desire to have a strong performance and to achieve their first-ever World Cup goal. She reflected on the significance of this event, stating, “It’s our first ever World Cup, and to go back and to tell the stories to our families and to our kids and loved ones…it’s something big because no one ever thought that Fiji women’s team would ever make it to the World Cup. But here we are.”

Nainima acknowledged the pride of their families back home, who are eagerly awaiting to watch the matches live on television. “We’re just going to give our best,” she added.

Fiji’s first match in the tournament will be against Brazil at 11 am on Sunday, September 1. They are scheduled to face Canada at 1 pm on Wednesday, September 4, and then France at 10 am on Saturday, September 7, all in Fiji time.
