Fiji’s Young Kulas Aim for Historic Goals in World Cup Debut

The Fiji Young Kulas are set to compete against Brazil in the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup tomorrow, motivated by clear goals. Assistant Coach Annette Nainima emphasized the team’s desire to perform well and achieve their first-ever World Cup goal.

“It will be a proud moment for us, for me, and for the players and other officials,” she shared with OFC Media. “This is our first World Cup, and being able to share this experience with our families and loved ones is significant because many never imagined that the Fiji women’s team would reach this level. But here we are.”

Nainima acknowledged the pride felt by their families back home, who are eagerly awaiting to watch the matches live. “We’re just going to give our best,” she added.

Fiji’s first match against Brazil is scheduled for 11 am on Sunday, September 1. Following that, they will face Canada at 1 pm on Wednesday, September 4, and then play against France at 10 am on Saturday, September 7, all in Fiji time.
