Fiji’s Wellness Tourism Takes Center Stage with Spartan 2024 Event

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism Viliame Gavoka has reiterated the Coalition Government’s commitment to harnessing high-impact events to enhance the economy and align with Fiji’s tourism development objectives.

During the Spartan 2024 Business Launch in Sabeto, Gavoka emphasized the importance of the Spartan event as both a sporting challenge and a key element in the government’s strategy to enhance Fiji’s status in the Wellness Tourism sector.

He noted the considerable success of last year’s Spartan event, which brought in an impressive FJ$6 million, significantly benefiting local businesses through the involvement of over 30 suppliers offering services such as transportation, accommodation, and catering.

According to Gavoka, this economic boost aligns well with the Coalition Government’s dedication to promoting local economic engagement while enhancing Fiji’s international attractiveness.

Additionally, the event delivered substantial advantages to Land Owning Units and local communities, showcasing the inclusive approach to economic growth under the Coalition Government.
