Fiji’s Wellness Tourism Gets a Boost from Spiritual Leader’s Visit

Acting Prime Minister Viliame Gavoka met with Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in Suva yesterday to explore the potential of Wellness Tourism as a way to expand Fiji’s market. Gavoka expressed gratitude towards Gurudev for his visit to Fiji and for promoting messages of goodwill and prosperity.

The talks also addressed pressing social issues faced by youth today, including drug abuse and the reckless use of social media.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, an Indian guru and spiritual leader from Papanasam, Tamil Nadu, India, is the founder of the Art of Living Foundation. Earlier in the day, he had an audience with President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere at the State House. The President noted that Gurudev’s philosophy transcends conventional societal divisions and fosters unity among diverse groups based on shared human values.

In recognition of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s considerable contributions to Fiji and humanity, President Katonivere awarded him the Officer of Fiji medal, acknowledging his exceptional service.
