Team Fiji’s Mereia Turaganivalu has achieved a bronze medal in the Women’s 59kg Youth category at the 2024 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships taking place at Vodafone Arena in Suva. The 14-year-old student from Gospel High School successfully lifted 53kg in the snatch and 70kg in the clean and jerk, culminating in a total lift of 123kg. Turaganivalu cites her mother and aunt, both former lifters, as her sources of inspiration and expresses pride in continuing the family legacy.
