Mereia Turaganivalu of Team Fiji has claimed a bronze medal in the Women’s 59kg Youth division at the 2024 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships held at Vodafone Arena in Suva. The 14-year-old student from Gospel High School lifted 53kg in the snatch and 70kg in the clean and jerk, achieving a total of 123kg. Turaganivalu expresses pride in continuing her family legacy, drawing inspiration from her mother and aunt, both of whom were former weightlifters.
