Fiji’s Water Supply Undergoes Major Upgrades: What You Need to Know!

The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) announced that its teams, along with contractors, have successfully completed the reconnection of the Viria Water Supply to the Waila Water Treatment Plant. Chief Operating Officer Seru Soderberg stated that the anchoring work commenced on Thursday, followed by connection and assembly tasks on Friday morning.

He noted that the anchoring process requires time for curing, and based on the current progress, flushing, bleeding, refilling of reservoirs, and restoration are slated to begin Saturday morning.

WAF expressed gratitude to its customers for their understanding and patience, especially regarding the advisories to store water over the weekend. Soderberg addressed concerns about ongoing water supply, explaining that reservoir levels have not yet reached critical lows, and they are implementing valve operations to manage water levels and ensure continued supply for as long as possible.
