The tourism sector achieved a remarkable feat in July, generating $351 million, marking the highest monthly earnings ever recorded in the country. During that month, the nation welcomed 98,332 visitors, which directly contributed to this impressive financial milestone. In comparison, tourism earnings for June were reported at $330 million.

Brent Hill, CEO of Tourism Fiji, expressed pride in the industry’s performance, stating, “July was our highest month for visitor arrivals in Fiji ever. Success is not assumed and comes with a lot of hard work.” He noted that it was particularly encouraging to see various strategic initiatives yielding positive results, including better distribution of visitors across Fiji, growth in various markets beyond the core, an increasing preference for adventure and wellness experiences, and a rise in events.

Thus far in the year, Fiji has recorded a total of 545,487 tourist arrivals. According to Tourism Fiji, recent trends indicate a growing interest in solo travel, high-income travelers prioritizing their journeys, and an escalating popularity in wellness tourism. Additionally, 2,371 of the arrivals in July were attributed to cruise passengers.
