Fiji’s Tourism Boom: Aiming for 1 Million Visitors by 2024!

Fiji’s Tourism Minister, Viliame Gavoka, announced that the tourism sector exceeded expectations last year, achieving a historic milestone with 929,740 visitors who collectively added $3.3 billion to the national economy. During his address at the Fiji Tourism Convention in Nadi, he highlighted that this performance represented a 4 percent increase compared to pre-pandemic levels, indicating that Fiji’s tourism industry is not only recovering but is also advancing with renewed strength.

From January to August this year, Fiji welcomed 640,274 visitors and is on track to potentially reach 1 million visitors by the end of 2024. Mr. Gavoka emphasized that through ongoing marketing initiatives, enhanced air connections, improved infrastructure, and a strong commitment to sustainable tourism practices, Fiji is positioned to meet or even surpass the goal of attracting 1 million visitors.
