Lolohea Naitasi of Team Fiji made her Olympic debut at the Grande Palais in Paris, competing against Jordan’s world number five, Julyana Alsadeq. The 17-year-old Taekwondo athlete put forth a strong effort but ultimately fell to Alsadeq. However, Naitasi was heartened by the tremendous support she received from her teammates and other teams from Oceania. She reflected on the experience as her best performance to date, having taken the advice of her coach, Master Ra, to enjoy every moment of her inaugural Olympic journey. After making history as Fiji’s first Taekwondo athlete to qualify for the Olympics, Naitasi is now focused on her next challenge—aiming for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
