Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism Viliame Gavoka has reaffirmed the Coalition Government’s commitment to leveraging significant events to stimulate the economy and support Fiji’s tourism development objectives.
During the launch of the Spartan 2024 Business event in Sabeto, Gavoka emphasized the Spartan challenge as both a sporting event and a crucial element of the government’s strategy to enhance Fiji’s status in the Wellness Tourism sector.
He reflected on the success of last year’s Spartan event, which generated an impressive FJ$6 million and significantly benefited local businesses, as over 30 suppliers were engaged in providing vital services such as transport, accommodation, and catering.
Gavoka noted that this economic boost aligns with the Coalition Government’s goal of promoting local economic involvement while enhancing Fiji’s attractiveness on the global stage.
Additionally, the event offered substantial advantages to Land Owning Units and local communities, showcasing the inclusive approach to Fiji’s economic development under the Coalition Government.
