Fiji’s Rising Stars Shine in French Rugby Showdown

A Flying Fijian utility back delivered an outstanding performance in the French Top 14 competition on Saturday. Bayonne center Sireli Maqala showcased his skills alongside former England star Manu Tuilagi (playing as second-five eighth) to lead their team to a 32-15 victory over Racing 92, where Maqala scored a try in the 45th minute, aided by the substitution of tighthead prop Luke Tagi. Racing 92 featured strong-running winger Josua Tuisova in their lineup.

In another match, elusive winger Jiu ta Wainiqolo found the try line for Toulon in their 30-17 win against Montpellier, where he partnered with utility back Seta Tuicuvu on the wing.

Flying Fijian second-five eighth Adrea Cocagi faced another setback, receiving a red card in the 20th minute as Castres triumphed over Stade Francais with a score of 35-13. Veteran Leone Nakarawa played at lock, while Setareki Turagacoke started from the bench for Stade Francais.

In a close contest, Semi Radradra received a yellow card for Lyon in a narrow 29-26 loss to USA Perpignan. Both Radradra and Sam Matavesi began the match on the bench, while Perpignan saw Tavite Veredamu score in injury time, and Eneriko Buliruarua played at center.

Toulouse, featuring burly winger Setareki Bituniyata, earned a slim 22-14 victory over Pau, who had Lekima Tagitagivalu starting on the bench.

Fiji-born France winger Alivereti Raka scored a try for Clermont in their dominant 55-33 win against Vannes. Fiery flanker Peceli Yato came off the bench for Clermont, while Salesi Rayasi started for Vannes.
