Fiji’s Rising Stars Set for Pacific Mini Games荣耀

Fiji’s athletic talent is set to shine on the international stage as standout athletes from the recent Coca-Cola Games are chosen for Team Fiji’s final squad for the upcoming Pacific Mini Games in Palau. Notably, Sera Nasilivata, who broke records at the 2025 Coca-Cola Games, and Gladness Simpson from Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School, recognized as the Games’ overall best female athlete, lead a promising group of competitors.

They will be joined by a strong contingent of gold medalists, including Adi Ceva Lutumailagi from Natabua High School, Loata Lewageena of Ratu Sukuna Memorial School, Frederico Miller from Marist Brothers High School, Serevi Tova of Nakasi High School, Keleni Lutu from MGM, and Farhan Ali of Suva Grammar School, among others. The Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) announced this exceptional lineup today.

Team Fiji will feature a total of 32 athletes in athletics alone, blending seasoned competitors like Waisake Tewa and Heleina Young with vibrant new talent. Overall, the team will encompass 186 members, including athletes and support staff, participating in 12 sports such as swimming, basketball, and weightlifting, with the Games scheduled to occur from June 29 to July 9.

This optimistic development follows the detailed selection processes highlighted in prior announcements, which emphasize the value of ongoing participation and assessment beyond the Coca-Cola Games. FASANOC stressed the importance of nurturing not only competitive athletes but also broadening the development pathway for young sports talent across various disciplines.

As Fiji gears up for the Mini Games, the evident commitment from both athletes and athletic organizations fosters hope for a strong representation that could elevate Fiji’s standing in regional sports. The community support surrounding these young athletes promises an uplifting experience as they aim to showcase their skills and potentially bring home honors for their nation.
