Viola Ravutubananitu, a Year 8 student at Tagitagi Sangam Primary School in Tavua, has achieved remarkable success as her school’s top scorer in the Fiji Eighth Year Examination. The 13-year-old remarkable student earned an impressive score of 491 out of 500. She credits her achievement to the unwavering support of her family and her strong faith in God.

Hailing from Totoya in Lau, with family ties to Tavualevu in Tavua, Viola expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the encouragement she received from her loved ones. “Foremost, I thank the Almighty,” she stated. Viola feels a sense of pride knowing that her hard work paid off, as she diligently prepared for the exams throughout the year, often studying late into the night and rising early to revise.

In a touching tribute, she dedicated her achievement to her late grandfather, Aisake Ravutubananitu, as well as her grandmother and parents. Viola shared, “When my grandpa passed away, I felt like I lost a part of me because he always supported me. But I thank the Heavenly Father for never leaving my side and helping me overcome my challenges.” She also expressed gratitude towards her grandmother, Ro Vani Ravutubananitu, and praised her class teacher, Nazeel Ali, along with the head teacher and staff for their continuous support.

The daughter of a corrections officer and a homemaker, Viola has aspirations to attend Adi Cakobau School (ACS) next year, stating, “I am interested in attending ACS because it breeds strong and independent women.”

Viola’s dedication and resilience not only make her a source of pride for her family but also for her school community. Her story serves as an inspiring reminder of the power of perseverance and support in achieving one’s dreams.
