Prashantika Prasad, a 22-year-old MBBS student from the University of Fiji, is excited to boost her confidence and explore more opportunities in the fashion industry. She is one of the ten contestants competing for the Miss Fiji Universe 2024 title, set to take place in Mexico later this year.
Prasad shared her motivation for entering the pageant, stating that she wanted to embrace an opportunity that is rare, with the aim of increasing her self-confidence. Her key message centers around the importance of building self-esteem and seizing opportunities.
She remarked, “While spontaneous experiences can be intimidating, they contribute significantly to personal growth.”
Prasad aims to raise awareness and support for creating a society focused on resilience and youth empowerment through education, as well as providing rehabilitation assistance for individuals tackling severe mental health issues and substance addiction.
Her ambition is to complete her studies and become a healthcare provider. “I have developed immense respect for girls who step up on such significant platforms and give their all. Through this experience, I have learned the value of female solidarity and gained insights from fellow contestants,” she noted.
Ms. Prasad previously served as the deputy head girl at Sangam Sadhu Kuppuswamy Memorial College in Nadi, where she also participated in the school band, singing the lead track “My School” for the college’s official music video. She inherits her singing talent from her father, Shalendra Shambu Prasad.
In addition to her musical pursuits, she plays an active role in the University of Fiji’s musical band and enjoys playing tennis and engaging in community service during medical camps.
