Key players in Fiji’s financial sector gathered at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva on October 16 to honor the Reserve Bank of Fiji for receiving the esteemed ‘Nestor Espenilla Jr Financial Inclusion Innovation Award’ at the 2024 Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) Awards annual event.
This award recognizes institutions that have shown exemplary leadership in using technology to enhance financial inclusion and have shared their insights with peers worldwide.
Dr. Eliki Boletawa, AFI’s Director of Policy Program and Implementation, highlighted that award recipients represent the essence of innovation and illustrate technology’s potential to drive inclusive financial systems.
He emphasized that the award underscores the significance of technology in providing more accessible, affordable, and inclusive financial services, reinforcing the Reserve Bank of Fiji’s status as a leader in advancing financial inclusion within the Pacific region.
