Fiji’s Recycling Pioneer Shines at Australian Awards

Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited is the sole representative from Fiji at the 2024 Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) Awards. Amitesh Deo, the company’s director, expressed pride in the nomination, dedicating the recognition to the nation and champions of sustainability.

Deo stated, “It is an incredible honour for us to be recognised alongside some of the largest and most innovative companies in Australia. This nomination is not just a win for WRFL but for all of Fiji. We are proud to represent our nation on such a prestigious platform, showcasing the hard work and dedication we have invested in sustainability over the years.”

As a finalist, Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited is encouraging all Fijians to support the company as it highlights Fiji’s commitment to sustainability on the global stage. “This is a testament to the progress we have made in recycling and waste management,” he added.

He emphasized that this achievement demonstrates that small island nations can significantly impact the sustainability sector.
