Fiji’s Prime Minister Heads to China: What’s at Stake?

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has left Fiji for a ten-day state visit to China. During his absence, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism, Viliame Gavoka, will serve as Acting Prime Minister. One of Gavoka’s initial responsibilities will be to chair the Cabinet meeting scheduled for tomorrow. He will fulfill the role of Acting Prime Minister until August 21.
