The Tuckers Ice-Cream Fiji Primary Schools Athletics Championship is generating immense excitement as it approaches, according to Patrick Bower, president of Fiji Primary Schools Athletics. This year, a record number of 21 districts are set to participate, leading to tremendous anticipation from both students and parents.

Interest in the event even extends to students from Vanualevu Schools, who are enthusiastic about the possibility of hosting the competition, despite facing challenges due to inadequate facilities.

The impressive turnout of participating schools reflects the efforts made to engage with various districts and provide necessary support. Bower highlighted the importance of training officials and ensuring all preparations are made before the competition commences.

“We are reaching out to the districts to monitor and train their officials, which gives them the opportunity to prepare their athletes for the games,” he explained. He stressed that the upcoming event is significant, which is why they adhere strictly to the rules to ensure everything runs smoothly. Bower also noted effective collaboration among leaders and smooth processing of entries, with everything on track for the championship.
