Fiji’s Political Revival: Promises of Change and Unity

The Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Professor Biman Prasad has announced that the current Government has fulfilled its promise to restore freedom to the people of Fiji by ending the oppressive rule of two individuals.

During the National Federation Party’s Annual Convention, Professor Prasad emphasized the Government’s efforts to establish a democratic and accountable administration in Fiji. He expressed that the party has honored its commitment to eliminate fear and intimidation, while also pledging to engage in consultation and dialogue.

He urged party members to support this ongoing process and continue backing the Government’s initiatives aimed at improving Fiji.

According to Professor Prasad, the National Federation Party is the oldest political party in Fiji, having endured through various challenges while other parties, even those once prominent, have disappeared.

He remarked on the unity among party members, stating that their shared belief in improving Fiji binds them together. He articulated their dedication to fostering peace and helping the most disadvantaged in society to enhance their quality of life. He highlighted the party’s long-standing efforts to reach a point where they can provide transparent and compassionate leadership that strengthens and uplifts Fiji.

Professor Prasad concluded by asserting their commitment to building a better Fiji, characterized by equality and fairness.
