Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is undertaking a two-day official visit to New Zealand to enhance bilateral relations and celebrate Fiji Day with the Fijian community in Aotearoa.
During his visit, Rabuka met with Fiji’s High Commissioner to New Zealand, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, and New Zealand’s Minister for Climate Change, Simon Watts. He was accompanied by Dr. Lesi Korovavala, the Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and his wife, Sulueti Rabuka.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with New Zealand’s Prime Minister Christopher Luxon to discuss vital areas of collaboration, including regional security, economic connections, and climate change, as part of the Fiji-New Zealand Duavata Partnership.
Additionally, Rabuka has been invited to officiate at the Fiji Day celebrations taking place at Mangere Centre Park in Auckland. During his absence, Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica will assume the role of Acting Prime Minister.
Following his New Zealand visit, Rabuka will travel to Samoa for the CHOGM next Wednesday.
