Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is currently visiting New Zealand for two days to enhance relations and commemorate Fiji Day with the Fijian community in Aotearoa. During his visit, he has met with Fiji’s High Commissioner to New Zealand, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, and New Zealand’s Minister for Climate Change, Simon Watts. Accompanying him are the Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Lesi Korovavala, and his wife, Sulueti Rabuka.

Rabuka is scheduled to meet with New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon to explore key areas of collaboration, including regional security, economic partnership, and climate change, in line with the Fiji-New Zealand Duavata Partnership. Additionally, the Prime Minister has been invited to preside over the Fiji Day celebrations at Mangere Centre Park in Auckland.

During Rabuka’s absence, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica will act as Prime Minister. Following his visit to New Zealand, Rabuka will travel to Samoa for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) next Wednesday.
