Fiji’s PM Inspires Students Abroad: A Call for Pride and Persistence

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka met with Fijian expatriates in Beijing last night, primarily Fijian students studying at various universities in China. Upon his arrival at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, the students welcomed him with traditional customs.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Rabuka expressed his gratitude to the students for maintaining their culture and customs while abroad. He emphasized the importance of education and highlighted the significant role these students play as ambassadors for Fiji on the global stage.

He encouraged them not to worry about their home country and to represent Fiji with pride. “Focus on your studies and excel in your academic pursuits,” he advised, adding that Fiji is advancing and managing well.

Recognizing the challenges of studying far from home, the Prime Minister commended the students for their determination and dedication. He reassured them of the support from their home country, congratulating them on their achievements.

In closing, Rabuka thanked the Chinese government for its ongoing assistance in the education of Fijian students and for collaboration in various areas of mutual interest.
