On August 26, the Multinational Force and Observer (MFO) Batt 43 Pre-Deployment Training (PDT) officially commenced at Joint Task Force Command (JTFC), led by Lieutenant Colonel Saula Koro, Chief Staff Officer Operation of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces.

In his opening remarks, Lt-Col Koro welcomed the members of Batt 43 PDT and highlighted Fiji’s significant role in promoting global stability and peace through this training.

He emphasized that the contingent, comprising 43 members, would carry the core values of Fiji—compassion, cooperation, and resilience—into their mission. Lt-Col Koro remarked on Fiji’s extensive peacekeeping history, filled with examples of bravery and commitment.

He encouraged the participants to build strong connections and foster a sense of solidarity that would enhance their effectiveness during deployment. “As peace ambassadors, let’s establish relationships through this training that will boost your efficiency in the field,” he stated.

Lt-Col Koro urged the members to engage in the training with curiosity, an open mindset, and a willingness to learn. He stressed the importance of teamwork and advised them to consistently demonstrate good judgment, caution, and a commitment to the principles of peace throughout their training.
