Fiji’s Paralympians Shine in Paris: A Round of Applause!

The Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection has extended congratulations to Fiji’s Paralympians for their impressive performances at the ongoing Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Minister Lynda Tabuya highlighted the immense pride felt for the athletes, who have showcased remarkable talent and determination on the international stage.

Irene Mar notably achieved a personal best in Taekwondo, earning a commendable 7th place worldwide. Minister Tabuya praised her dedication and hard work, expressing pride in her accomplishments.

Additionally, Selina Seau and Naibili Vatunisolo Tagicakibau were recognized for their strong performances, with Seau displaying exceptional resilience and spirit. Tagicakibau made history by setting a new Oceania Record in the F64 shot put with an impressive throw of 9.19 meters.

Tabuya emphasized the significant effort and commitment demonstrated by these three female paralympians in their training and competition, noting that their achievements are a testament to their perseverance and passion for their sports, serving as inspiration for future generations to pursue their dreams.
