The Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection has extended its congratulations to Fiji’s Paralympians for their remarkable performances at the ongoing Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Minister Lynda Tabuya expressed her pride in the athletes who have shown exceptional talent and determination on the international stage.
Notable among them is Irene Mar, who achieved a personal best in Taekwondo, securing 7th place globally. Minister Tabuya praised her achievement, stating that it reflects her dedication and hard work.
Additionally, Selina Seau and Naibili Vatunisolo Tagicakibau received accolades for their strong performances. Seau showcased immense resilience and spirit, while Tagicakibau made waves by breaking the Oceania Record in the F64 shot put with a throw of 9.19 meters.
“The Ministry acknowledges the significant effort and commitment our three female Paralympians have dedicated to their training and competition. Their accomplishments are a demonstration of perseverance and passion for their sports, inspiring future generations to chase their dreams,” Minister Tabuya remarked.
