The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) derives its strength not from sheer power but from its unwavering dedication to serving the people and upholding civil authority. This message was emphasized by Home Affairs Minister Pio Tikoduadua during the recent graduation ceremony of new RFMF recruits.

Speaking at the passing out parade, Minister Tikoduadua highlighted the vision set forth in the National Security and Defence Review, which aims for an RFMF that is progressive, disciplined, and steadfast in its commitment to democratic principles. He called upon the newly trained officers to act as custodians of this vision.

As these young officers embark on their military careers, Tikoduadua urged them to embrace the traditions of the RFMF while also working to shape its future in alignment with the values of Fiji. He stressed that their individual progress within the military is crucial and that the decisions they make now will influence their future paths, whether they aspire to become commanding officers, regional leaders, or public servants.

Tikoduadua shared that his own military training laid the foundation for his accomplishments in life, instilling in him the courage to stand up for his beliefs, the importance of leadership with conviction, and the value of serving with humility. He expressed hope that the recruits’ training would similarly inspire them to serve with excellence in their future endeavors.

This event not only marks a significant milestone for the new recruits but also reflects Fiji’s commitment to nurturing leaders who are aligned with the nation’s democratic values. Encouraging messages like those from Minister Tikoduadua serve to motivate and inspire a new generation of military personnel who will pave the way for a brighter and more secure future.
