The businessNOW FIJI e-Services platform, designed to significantly expedite the business startup process in Fiji, was launched last week by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica.

This initiative, developed by the Ministry of Trade, Co-operatives, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Communications, aims to enhance the business environment in Fiji by consolidating essential government services into an efficient and user-friendly digital platform.

The platform includes eight integrated e-services specifically for starting a business, enabling both Fijian and international entrepreneurs to navigate the process smoothly, with a commitment to a turnaround time of 14 days for all complete applications.

During the launch event, Mr. Kamikamica highlighted the significance of promoting innovation and sustainable practices to boost economic growth and improve living standards for all Fijians. He noted that the integrated Starting a Business e-Services offered through this platform exemplify the government’s continuous efforts to encourage investment opportunities and create a conducive environment for business operations.

“We are excited to introduce the businessNOW FIJI platform, marking a new phase of opportunity and prosperity for our nation,” Mr. Kamikamica stated. He added that the event highlighted their accomplishments and reaffirmed their dedication to sustainability and resilience amid global challenges.

Key stakeholders, including government officials, business leaders, innovators, and representatives from various sectors, attended the platform’s launch. The ministry indicated that the event also provided a space for collaboration among diverse groups and the exploration of new growth and development opportunities in Fiji.

The ministry anticipates that this project will position Fiji as a leader in the Pacific region and demonstrate its innovative approach to transforming the nation into a thriving economic center.
