The businessNOW FIJI e-Services platform, a transformative initiative aimed at significantly shortening the time required to establish a business in Fiji, was recently launched by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica.
Developed by the Ministry of Trade, Co-operatives, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Communications, businessNOW FIJI is designed to enhance the business environment in Fiji by integrating essential government services into a singular, user-friendly digital platform.
The platform offers eight integrated e-services for starting a business, enabling both Fijian and international entrepreneurs to navigate the entire process smoothly, with a promised turnaround time of just 14 days for all complete applications.
During the launch event, Mr. Kamikamica highlighted the crucial role of innovation and sustainable practices in driving economic growth and improving the quality of life for all Fijians. He noted that the eight integrated e-services exemplify the Fiji government’s continuous dedication to promoting investment opportunities and creating a supportive business environment.
“We are excited to introduce the businessNOW FIJI platform, marking the beginning of a new era of opportunity and prosperity for our nation,” stated Mr. Kamikamica. “This occasion not only reflects our accomplishments but also underscores our commitment to sustainability and resilience amid global challenges.”
The launch was attended by key stakeholders, including government officials, business leaders, innovators, and representatives from various sectors. The Ministry emphasized that the platform also serves as a catalyst for collaboration among diverse groups and encourages exploration of new avenues for growth and development in Fiji.
The ministry anticipates that this initiative will redefine Fiji’s position as a leader in the Pacific and highlight its innovative strategies in developing the nation into a thriving economic hub.
